FALL PROGRAMMING CLASSES

CLASS INFORMATION

  • Every Saturday from from 3:00 to 4:00 PM CST

  • Price: $75 for 7 classes

  • All classes will be held through Zoom 

  • Each student may only register for ONE class

Introduction
to Python Programming

Through SparkSTEM’s Introduction to Python Course, students will learn the basics of programming through Python. Our experienced instructors will cover concepts such as data types, conditionals, functions, and object-oriented programming concepts. The lecturers will initiate a systematic approach to problem-solving which will encourage students to develop their own logical thinking skills and creativity. By the end of the course, students will master the fundamental concepts of Python and receive a strong foundation for systematic thinking skills. Recommended for incoming 6th-9th grade students.

Introduction to Competitive Programming

Through SparkSTEM's Introduction to Competitive Programming course, students will be introduced to the basics of competitive programming in Java. Students will learn common techniques for approaching competition problems, and this course will progress in difficulty. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to take on USACO bronze-level problems. Prior knowledge of Java is recommended. Recommended for incoming 8th-10th grade students.

Intermediate Python Programming

The Intermediate Python course covers more advanced aspects of coding in python, such as the NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib libraries. The course covers introductory topics in machine learning, including supervised vs. unsupervised learning, classification, and clustering. After taking the Intermediate Python course, students will be prepared to make use of python’s advanced features to pursue their own projects in machine learning and other applications. Prior experience in python is recommended.
